Merlin A mythical magician who is said to have managed the birth of Britain's King Arthur and to have practically ruled early England through his powers and his influence on Arthur. Said by some to have been the son of Satan.
      In the traditional story, Merlin does not die, but is spirited away to the Isle of Avillion, wherever that may be.
