The Foundation bought a bunch of books and book certificates to
distribute to disadvantaged kids this year. Books like Michael
Jordan's how-I-got-where-I-am accounts, and dinosaur pop-up books,
along with gift coupons exchangeable for other books of choice, seemed
to us to be good gifts.
The Foundation is looking good fiscally, a little behind schedule but
getting there. Memberships are going out daily, and the final
auditorium blueprints just arrived and are now awaiting official
approval from the city. I'm pretty happy about the whole picture.
We have two proposed "psychic" tests coming up soon, and TIME magazine
is awaiting the finalization of the arrangements, for a basis for a
story on the JREF. The preliminary papers of agreement are signed,
and now the protocols are being developed. Should be pretty easy to
carry out. Others who have made a lot of noise about my "refusal" to
test them, are being ignored until they carry out the simple rules.
Rules are rules . . .
The A&E pilot is due in March, the Discovery on-line interactive debut
is on January 8th, and I'm busy, busy, busy.
The best of the holiday season, and of 1997, to all you folks. And,
most of all, to my valued anonymous sponsors, who know who they are,
and I'm sure also know what an opportunity the JREF is for me.
Onwards . . . .!
James Randi.
