A different angle....

I think it's pretty obvious now that Uri Geller (remember him?) is
using threats of legal action to silence and censor those who comment
on him.

Hey, he has nothing else to do, and has to control the criticism.
Else, his dwindling fan club might stumble upon the facts....!

Latest news is that the Amazing Jonathan is going in to the studio to
change his comments made on an NBC special. NBC lawyers, predictably,
cowered and ran when Geller's irrepressible lawyer(s) threatened the
network. So what else is new?

I repeat: our freedom of speech is increasingly threatened. The
lawyers love it, and they thrive on it.

On a far, far more serious note, His Holiness* the Dalai Lama, has
been hornswoggled in California. He, along with actor Edward James
Olmos and writer Alice Walker, and Nobel Laureates Jose Ramos Horta
and Rigoberta Menchu (the latter reprssenting Anita Mench Tum) were
treated to a demonstration by "Master Zhou Ting-Jue," who is
considered a "national treasure" in China, we're told. This living
treasure was the star of the "Peacemaking: the Power of Nonviolence"
conference, June 9-11 at the Billy Graham Auditorium in San Francisco.
The "Master" did the old Geller hot-foil trick, and fooled 'em all.
This was to prove the efficacy of "Qi Gong," a medieval notion still
embraced by millions of Asiatics and those Westerners who don't know
any better. Zhou did the trick, and then discarded the props in a
waste-basket. But an interested observer salvaged the material, and
it's on its way to me.

Can't wait!
