Morta Deller is the next Uri Geller Print E-mail
Written by James Randi
Tuesday, 29 April 2008

Here known as “Morta Deller,” and taking cues from magician Daniel Chesterfield, Olli Pocher shows his mastery of using the obvious to create the sort of reputation that Uri Geller created; the parallel is not at all far-fetched…!

Wow, he really is as amazing as Uri Geller.

Good laugh! BTW, there's some punning going on. As every good Italian boy knows, "mortadella" is Italian baloney.

Brilliant! I wish I thought of this. I would like to direct everyone's attention also to the genius parody of comedian Lance Krall, who plays "Chu Chi!: Master of the Afterlife", who preforms absolutely silly one-to-one cold readings with actual people on the street. "Kill Your Cats" is a classic. I truly believe that unflinching parody is the ultimate mass-debunker.

I remember trying to fool my assorted nieces and nephews by snapping my fingers to "make" the red light turn green at intersections and related things like that; bless 'em, even when very young they never were fooled.

Had I but known that I also needed a killer soundtrack and some serious faux dramatic acting, I would have succeeded... at entertaining my nieces and nephews even more!

Nicely done!

Oliver Pocher showed this on the german tv-program "Schmidt&Pocher" during the time, when on Pro7 (german tv-station) the german "The Next Uri Geller" was broadcasted.

In the Uri Geller weekly TV-show on Pro7, Oliver Pocher was invited by Geller to make his parody.

That was very entertaining. I think he far surpasses Geller in steely looks of concentration and choreography.
