Spoon Bender Parody Print E-mail
Written by Rich Montalvo
Wednesday, 12 December 2007

A swift reader sends us a link to a great parody video of a famous spoon bender. He states:

I'm sure you've probably already seen this, but with the recent discourse in SWIFT regarding Geller's past claims of paranormal ability, I could not help but be reminded of the hilarious sketch by Hugh Laurie & Stephen Fry in their show "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" on the subject of spoon-bending which SWIFT readers may find entertaining - it is on YouTube at the following URL: youtube.com/watch?v=qUxWdIQVT_c

I continue to follow your efforts with regard to Geller's change of heart, and wish you all the very best.

That is hilarious and very close to how he really acts. Anyone know what year this video is from?

The Fry and Laurie box set is available
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bit-Fr...31&sr=8-2

that sketch is from the first season. It is because of an article that Stephen Fry wrote about James Randi years ago (published in his "Paperweight" collection) that I came to this site and the work that Randi does!

Ah, Stephen Fry, how I love thee.

Let's not forget that Laurie and Fry also helped James Randi make a fool of astrologer James Cainer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDhxcIaC23k

Incidentally, is there any hope of getting James Randi: Psychic Investigator on DVD?

Hugh Laurie was great in that clip. The poor, sad astrologer's face at the end was absolutely priceless.
