The Amaz!ng Adventure 4: Chasing el Chupacabra

March 8-15, 2009 round trip from Los Angeles

Join us March 2009 for our fourth adventure on the deep blue seas, as James Randi and the JREF take you south to sunny Mexico in search of fellowship, fun and a bit of frivolity. With three ports and three days of lectures, you'll experience a one-of-a-kind environment where your intellect is fed as well as your body.

This journey's vessel, the Mariner of the Seas is an oceanic behemoth of 138,000 tons displacement... with the largest passenger-space ratio of any cruise liner afloat. This is double the size of the first ship we cruised on.

The ports include three of the most popular destinations in Western Mexico. Cabo San Lucas, on the southern tip of Baja California, boasts pristine beaches, golf, fishing, and an infamous bar scene. Puerto Vallarta, with its 2500-year plus history, was frequently the destination of choice for the Love Boat of the 70's TV series. It's still popular with locals and foreigners alike. And finally, Mazatlan's brave young men will dive off of cliffs near its famous 150-year old lighthouse and crash into the sea hundreds of feet below.

The Speakers

James Randi

First, we have author, stage magician, and lecturer James Randi who will educate and entertain in his inimitable fashion. Not only will he give us a presentation,  but he'll be available for casual chats and ocean gazing throughout the cruise. You will also have a rare chance to enjoy an evening meal in his company on any night of the cruise.

Jeff Wagg

The ecclectic and eccentric Jeff Wagg will present information about the Chupacabra crisis with practical tips on how to defend yourselves against this phenomenon. El chupacabra, or "goat sucker," has reportedly spread throughout Latin America, including near the ports we will we call. Could they affect you? Could there be a sea-going chupacabra? Could there be one amongst the passengers? Jeff will answer these and many more questions.

Mark Edward

And finally, Mark Edward, famed mentalist and master of the magical séance, will be joining us.

Edward's mastery of magic and psychic entertainment earned him the position of Medium at Hollywood's Magic Castle, where he conducted séances for 15 years. He will regale attendees with stories of his undercover work as a "professional psychic" when he was on the editorial staff at SKEPTIC magazine. Those joining us will be invited to take part in Edward's famous interactive show "Your Mind or Mine,"
at no cost. Edward will excite and amaze participants with his baffling mind-reading abilities.
