I don't pay an electric bill. When I did pay an electric bill the company kept charging me about 10 times what I actually used and I got tired of being their no-interest banker so I had it shut off. I do it by doing without exept for what I get from a 15 watt solar cell charging 2 garden tractor batteries which I rotate for radios, and a 5 watter charging my gel cells for lighter jobs. Plus I have lot's of "solar-crank" type lights. A wood stove provides heat. I occationally burn a canola oil lamp. So, if you really want to do without an electric bill, this is the way to do it. And it's no where near as hard as the way my great grandfather did it. His family lived in rural NY before "rural electrification." mc - kunjamuk

Xogen all over again

Many years back I wrote an article on a similar company called Xogen. I wasted many an hour debating online with people who felt that there just must be something in it. If only we can make these devices complicated enough, maybe we can fool Mother Nature into revoking the laws of thermodynamics.

Many people thought there would come some critical historic moment when Xogen's technology would be proven either true or false. It didn't work that way, of course. Like Steorn, Xogen faded away with a wimper, not a bang.

I notice that Xogen has now entered the free-energy lore as yet another world-saving technology that was ruthlessly suppressed by a cabal of industrial interests.

I'm pretty certain there actually is something to this "free, clean, and constant energy." You just need to figure out how to capture all the hot air that lot generates.

I also enjoy the various excuses trotted out, particularly when they blame "negative vibes" from nearby skeptics. I look forward to the day when I can amuse myself by hanging out near a busy intersection and making random cars stall with my "negative vibes." Maybe I'll start a towing company.
"One of the biggest factors in persuading me that Orbo is real is that it is a technology whose time has arrived. The world is ready for it now."
;D

Like, I just know that girl coming towards me is going to have sex with me because, hey, I am ready for it now.
The dream lives on, however, as Steorn prepares to begin licensing its Orbo technology “definitely before the end of the year”, Mr McCarthy said.
Note the highlighted words "prepares to begin". They are going to "prepare to begin" definitely before the end of the year.
You gotta hand it to these guys. ;D - BillyJoe
he Irish Times article (correct link: http://english.ohmynews.com/ar...1&rel_no=1 ) is disappointing
It ends by saying: "Stay tuned. This may not be over." ;D

If only Orbo kept going like the publicity about it.

But hey, they claim to have *just* resolved the technical difficulties and will prove their device works by the end of *this* year!

I'm wondering why the CEO isn't covered in feathers and tar. Can't people see a big steaming pile of poo when they step into it? Maybe the locals just think it's a great joke and it keeps them laughing every night at the pub. - MadScientist

The Irish Times article (correct link: http://english.ohmynews.com/articleview/article_view.asp?at_code=437210&no=385391&rel_no=1 ) is disappointing because the journalist felt the need to equivocate and "hear the other side" again. - Bruno
