It is with great regret that we note the passing last Monday – after a long and difficult illness – of geophysicist and prominent member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor Attila Mesko. He was a scholar who received many awards, and will be greatly missed by the scientific community. |

If you'll pardon the expression, the weekly Swift post has evolved over the years. It wasn't created divinely, or even *ex nihilo*. Instead, it's gone through various incarnations over time, having been a Hotline, an Info List, and a newsletter.

ABC Shames Itself Again, Belief and Pizza, North Atlantic Cruise Canceled, “UFO” Spotted At New Zealand Skeptic Event, You Can Do It Too!, Promising News From Africa, Tying Up Skepticism With a Pretty Ribbon, An Overlooked Skeptic Resource, What Can Be Next, Religulous Review, and A Final Closing
The ABC-TV network – USA – ranks high among major TV networks. Viewers should expect that this company knows how to present news and documentaries in a factual, balanced, manner. Perhaps they do know how to do this, but their writers and editors generously use their powers to slant and destroy the integrity of the information they process, thus satisfying the ravenous public taste for highly glamorous, pleasant, and deceptive presentations that misinform and deceive them.

The Derek Ogilvie Test, Fostering Belief, Hole-In-One Chiropractor, Michael Horn Exposed, A Day in the Life, Global Climate Change: An Opinion, Open TAM to the Dead?, Science Saves (More) Lives, A Simple Test of Horoscopes, In Closing...
From UK reader Troy Donockley comes this commentary:
Last night, channel 5 in the UK broadcast a documentary about the “Baby Mind Reader” Derek Ogilvy, and I sat down to watch this anticipated “strike for reason” with excitement. A psychic was taking the Million Dollar Challenge! Yippee! It made me want to throw a street party! I was not the only one.
