Written by Sharon Hill

Here is a rundown of the top stories in pseudoscience, anomalies and the mysterious from the past week courtesy of Doubtful News.

The top story that may make you want to bang your head against the wall is this device out of Egypt used for diagnosing hepatitis C. You will recognize it. It's a dowsing rod.

Prophecies are swirling about the next Pope. Will he be the last?

If you're curious about what a UFO Congress is like, check out these reports from the International meeting.

Two new movies are in the news. First, this one looks very interesting - about a child that grew up with the Lutz family and lived through the Amityville Horror episode. Once again, we see haunted people...

Second, the Proof of Heaven bestseller will be made into a movie marketed to the faith-based audience.

Melba Ketchum's Sasquatch DNA study, on shaky ground from day one, turned into a muddy mess this week when evolutionary biologists panned the paper as ridiculous and others pointed out that perhaps one might want to first READ the references you select for your supporting evidence in case, you know, they aren't April Fools' jokes.

What the heck was this hairless beastie that washed up on a U.K. shoreline? There's a good chance it can be easily explained.

What some people might claim to be a tempest in a teapot, Blake Smith and Mr. Randi show us how to be thoughtful skeptics in the face of adversity. Be sure to read the comments.

Finally, I have no idea why this was a popular story. But, people believe Jesus delivers messages through the oddest means.

Burzynski This Week
written by LindaRosaRN, March 07, 2013
The Bad Boy of public television – Denver's CPT-12 – will be airing "Burzynski The Movie" tonight and Saturday, with two pals of Burzynski appearing in-studio. CPT has chosen a Shopping Network host wannabe to ask filmmaker and Burzynski's PR representative probing questions. You would think that showing this infomercial for Stanislaw Burzynski would violate the station's certification with corporate PBS. Many have left complaints about this new low in public TV programming at: http://tinyurl.com/agbmsuz
