We've seen claims that people coexisted with dinosaurs. In fact, some say Jesus may have even ridden a dinosaur. And while anyone who is at all interested in science can laugh at such claims, some new evidence has just appeared on the scene. It's not evidence of humans and dinosaurs; it's even better.

It's Jurassic Bigfoot.

KOMO in Seattle, Washington is reporting that a local man has found a fossil footprint of bigfoot in a layer of rock from the Jurassic Era. Cliff Crook, who has been looking for bigfoot since an encounter in the 1950's, considers this footprint to be proof not only that bigfoot existed, but continues to exist today.

Though the story includes some skeptical elements, it's lacking in some pretty basic detail. Crook says he found the footprint in a river bed dating to the Jurassic Era. How do we know this? The Jurassic Era is known for its large herbivorous dinosaurs. Mammals were primitive then, and there is no evidence for anything resembling a primate. In fact, the oldest known primate fossil is from the Paleocene, some 80,000,000 years after the end of the Jurassic Era. If this footprint is actually from that period, a lot of natural history is about to be re-written.

When questioned about his beliefs, Cliff Crook had nothing to say to skeptics. He doesn't want to talk to them. And we may have a clue on why he has that attitude. The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, a pro-bigfoot group, has this to say about Crook: he is a "notorious, attention-hungry bigfoot hoaxer." That fact could have been mentioned in the article. While I don't think the BFRO is a skeptical organization, it's telling that even the Bigfoot proponents don't accept Crook's evidence.

There's no need to explore this further or ask more obvious questions such as how a fossil footprint proves present-day existence, or how primates apparently evolved before their ancestors. It's just another example of the media looking for ratings rather than journalism.

Horray, proof at last...
written by houdin654jeff, January 31, 2010
After his fifty-odd years of searching, this man has finally found proof of Bigfoot... kinda... only not really at all. More footprints, we've heard this evidence before. People won't trust this source, mainly because of the obvious holes in the theory, but also because the man himself doesn't want definitve proof.

At the end of the article, when asked about finding a dead Bigfoot body, he hopes that never happens. Why not? That would convince everyone. Besides, you'd have to account for that famous film of Bigfoot walking along being a hoax. The hoaxer admitted it, just like fellow who took the Loch Ness Monster photo. Funny, people will listen to hoaxes and believe them, but they won't listen once the hoax has been revealed as a hoax.

Bigfoot or dinosaur track
written by Kajabla61, January 31, 2010
Years ago some creationist was trying to claim that human prints were found along side dinosaur tracks, in the Paluxy River no less where some of the best preserved and most abundant dinosaur tracks have been found. What he actually saw was a smeared footprint of a three toed dinosaur that resembled a human print without much detail. After that it was simply wishful thinking.

I could probably have forgiven Mr. Cook (above) if he had simply gotten overly excited about finding a "human" footprint but then recanted when someone pointed out that the print was in Jurassic sediment. Knowing that even other bigfoot promoters say he is a hoaxer however means he is simply another member of the scum of the earth groups, seeking attention, who deserves to be ignored.

If you have some time and want a good laugh you can look at many dinosaur, and even pre-dinosaur, aged human footprints at bible.ca

This Crook guy could be on to something. What if dinosaurs were god and bigfoot is jesus and this whole religious/bible/creation thing is really a human genome memory of some kind? smilies/wink.gif

The clue is in the name

As much as I think we should keep an open (sceptical) mind about the possible existence of an unknown primate species in North America, Cliff Crook is renowned for his barmy ideas. At least, as Steel Rat points out, he has an appropriate surname.

I know it's against policy to incite violence, but is it okay to wish that some IMAGINARY beast such as Bigfoot would stomp the turds out of Mr. Crook? smilies/wink.gif smilies/wink.gif smilies/wink.gif

Imagine his buddies finding a Bigfoot footprint and noting "Don't that thar footprint look jus' like ol' Cliff?" smilies/tongue.gif

Well, after 56 years he found his 3rd set of footprints. One set every 18 years makes you a well-known hoaxer?
Oh yes, he had four photographs, too. I hope he doesn't over-exert himself! smilies/cheesy.gif
