Lady Gaga Is Probably Not An Illuminati Shill PDF Print E-mail
Swift
Written by Penn Bullock

Telephone_OfficialConspiracy theorists have seized on Lady Gaga’s latest music video, “Telephone,” as evidence that she’s a mind-controlled agent of the CIA. If that sounds like a stretch, consider that VigilantCitizen.com has raked in over 1,300 comments on its conspiratorial analysis of “Telephone.” Hundreds of thousands of people have likely read it, and perhaps many believed.

Vigilant Citizen’s warning to America is that Gaga and other singers have been given the full Manchurian-Candidate treatment under the CIA’s “Monarch Program” and unleashed on pop culture to rep the devil-worshipping Illuminati. The wider goal of the conspiracy remains hazy, but it has to do with seducing and softening up the hoi polloi with a mind-controlling pageantry of outrageous sex, decadence, murder, madness, and technological excess — all elements in “Telephone” and preparatory ingredients in a transhumanist, authoritarian New World Order.

But let’s backtrack. What is this CIA “Monarch Program”? Vigilant Citizen talks about it as if it’s a well-established fact. Curious and unwilling to put anything past the CIA, I went in search of credible sources testifying to its existence. But the whole notion of the program originates with one woman named Cathy O’Brien and I wouldn’t call her credible. I would call her batty.

The “Monarch Program” is a figment of O’Brien’s “recovered memories.” The inducement of such memories, almost always fabricated, was a fad in the 1980s, and fueled that decade’s satanic sex abuse scare. Michael Barkun, in Culture of Conspiracy: Apocalyptic Visions in Contemporary America, writes that O’Brien was hypnotized by her husband and began recalling her brainwashing under the Monarch Program and subsequent work as a CIA drug smuggler and sex-slave to George H.W. Bush and Hillary Clinton. The claims were so outlandish that her critics included the late Jim Keith, an originator of the black-helicopter conspiracy theory, and the author of Saucers of the Illuminati and Casebook on the Men in Black. Culture of Conspiracy notes that a Ufologist investigated O’Brien’s story with an open mind and gave up after finding her accusations “never came backed with hard evidence.”

I don’t mean to imply the CIA hasn’t tried controlling people’s minds or programming them. It has. You needn’t look any further than Project MKULTRA for proof of that. But Vigilant Citizen stakes its Gaga theory on the existence of a separate, unsubstantiated CIA conspiracy that’s been dismissed as improbable by the black-helicopter people — and for that the website loses all credibility.

More interesting than the question of Lady Gaga’s dark history with the CIA is that of Vigilant Citizen’s popularity. How to explain it? The easy answer is that conspiracy theorists have always been around. But there’s no denying we live in especially paranoid times, and Vigilant Citizen’s popularity is helped by the fact that an oligopoly controls the airwaves – raising perhaps legitimate concerns that content is being screened and manipulated by a small cadre of record executives. It also helps that Lady Gaga’s music is unprecedented and provocative — and that she’s thrown red meat to the conspiracy theorists by, for instance, posing in a Masonic temple wearing Hello Kitty dolls.

And I admit with no reluctance that Vigilant Citizen is an entertaining read and makes astute points here and there. The website was somewhat correct in linking Gaga with Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, the dystopian sci-fi film from Weimar Germany. She derived her name from “Radio Gaga,” a Queen song whose promotional video was set in Metropolis. And she’s posed for a photo shoot (caution: graphic) in a robot outfit, scaling skyscrapers with a Zeppelin and sprawled naked bodies in the background, leaving no doubt that she’s fashioned herself after Weimar modernism. That fact itself is a riddle of the zeitgeist.

But maybe the deeper meaning in Vigilant Citizen’s popularity is that music — and I mean everything from the marches of John Phillips Souza to Elvis’s alleycat yowls to Lady Gaga’s androidal croon — is moving and terrifying, a force of nature as well as a reflector and creator of culture. If the Puritans ascribed to music occult, evil, and paranormal properties, so do some modern Americans. Vigilant Citizen speaks for them.

Black helicopters? Do you mean helicopters of African descent? smilies/tongue.gif

Sorry, I can't help acting like an eeee-diot when I read of these eeee-diotic conspiracy theories!

The only person I've ever known who believed in those "black, silent helicopters" went to work for the NSA. Really, I kid you not, the FBI made an unannounced visit to where we work and interviewed many of his co-workers! smilies/cry.gif

Cathy O’Brien and her weirdo Svengali husband are quite popular on the Dope to Dope AM radio show. It's really sad to hear all the mentally disturb that call in and confabulate stories to match O'brien's made up story. George Noory, that credulous tool, buys right in. Say what you want about Art Bell it always seemed to me he was just in it for a payday Noory truly believes in the non-sense he airs.

Wow. And here I thought her video was just the latest in an endless string of vapid overproduced shock-pop marketing tools carefully manufactured to fulfill that most time honored of American activities: selling a commodity. Shows how much I know.

Surely being dismissed as improbable by the black-helicopter people should increase its credibility?

Hmm, the phrase "there's no denying" always sets off an alarm bell in my head. I doubt people are more paranoid than in the past. It's just easier for crackpots to get an airing.

Two things. Black helicopters fly over my house day and night. They are real. Some are flown by foreign pilots with American even. Of course, that may be because I live near Fort Rucker, Alabama the Home of Army Aviation and the US Army’s helicopter school. However, let us not let facts get in the way.

Second, I think I just became a Lady Gaga fan! Who is she?

Are you blind?
written by Zoroaster, March 26, 2010
The good folks at Vigilant Citizen may be well-intentioned but they are complete amateurs at spotting the imprints of clandestine cabals. While Gaga's work is definitely filled with Masonic symbolism it is obviously the work of Discordians also known as Erisians - a politically active cult bent on the subjugation of men and the implementation of a global matriarchy through whatever means necessary and which is diametrically opposed to the Illuminati. While the song details the complaints of an unattached woman who is constantly receiving unwanted telephone calls from admirers, the video portrays Gaga's escape from a women's prison and subsequent crime spree with Beyonce. A point is made of denying Gaga has male genitalia (and thus possible sympathy for men). Beyonce drives the Pussy Wagon - an iconic vehicle from the Kill Bill movies. This reference is highly loaded as the protagonist of Kill Bill was a mother as well as a killer. The destructive and generative aspects of the goddess Kali combined in one. Why would the Illuminati want to reference a hired killer who escaped her programming and turned her skills against her (male) boss? Not what MK Ultra would want. Gaga and Beyonce go on to murder the man who apparently has been calling them too much, taking a dozen innocent bystanders with him. An obvious message that collateral damage will be very acceptable in this ultra-feminist revolution.

Some might argue that the preponderance of symbolism is Illuminati despite the themes being Discordian but this is typical Discordian maneuvering. By distracting low level conspiracy experts like those at Vigilant Citizen, with a few eyes and black helicopters they can slip their message through. Though we never actually see the golden apple of Eris (the best known symbol of the Discordians) it is clear that in the opening scene Gaga herself is meant to be the apple - the prize to be claimed by the prettiest of the inmates who thus sows discord through her very presence. As Beyonce and Gaga drive off into the desert a la Thelma and Louise but without the suicide, we are given a single clear feminist symbol at the end - the mirror of Venus.

Others have asked why a music video should be a subject for the JREF. To me the answer is obvious, fear. The Discordians are manipulating the media to bring about a 2012 presidential race between Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. Either way, they win. Once the U.S. is under female control the rest of the world will fall quickly. Men will be relocated to work camps or hunted down like animals. The JREF is making a feeble attempt to curry favor and hopefully mercy for their senior male members. James Randi started the ball rolling by claiming he was gay and making ridiculous attempts to defend his beard. Then by publishing what amounts to an advertisement for Gaga's video, the JREF hoped to gain further acceptance with our new Mistresses. I'm afraid this is a vain ploy but it can't hurt either. I, too, have recovered authentic suppressed memories while under hypnosis.

Sadly, the repressed memories were just as boring as the false ones.

I've only been so sad one other time, when I learned that, in a previous life, I was a garbage collector, not connected with royalty, not rich or powerful, just a garbage collector.

As for the CIA, ever since they spirited Elvis away from Memphis and helped him fake his own death, I've known they were up to no good.

Black Helicopters are real,l but not CIA
written by kunjamuk, March 27, 2010
Take it from someone who had a real black helicopter experience while living in the backwoods of Kentucky. My advice?
1. When you're in the woods cutting firewood and a black helicopter flies over pointing a machine gun at you, ignore it. Keep cutting wood.
2. Later when two guys in black jumpsuits with badges and guns come by and ask you to use your tractor to help them get their SUV unstuck, be friendly and go do it.
3. Later, when you see them carrying bundles of shrubby weeds with their helicopter to a field and burning it..stand downwind. Breath deep. It will be the best legal high you'll ever get.

@Zoroaster:
I hope this is satire. If so, a great big hat tip to you.
If not: "The Discordians are manipulating the media to bring about a 2012 presidential race between Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton." You seem so certain. Tell you what. I'll bet you $5000 that there will not be a race between Hilary Clinton and Sarah Palin. Double or nothing on the whole of the world falling and men being hunted like animals.
