Mr. Steve Hume, a member of the UK Society for Psychical Research, who apparently gives personal demos of "physical phenomena" such as "table levitation" and "direct voice communication" which are claimed to occur under the forces of spirits at séances has provided readers of the October 2008 edition of the Journal of the Society with a 1,600-word review of a 2007 book by Chris Carter, of Oxford University.

galapagos_bookJREFer and regular TAM attendee Barbara Mervine has announced an auction for an interesting item: a copy of Darwin's book The Voyage of H.M.S. Beagle. The book traveled on the Amaz!ng Adventure III to the Galapagos Islands, and was signed by everyone who went, including James Randi, Phil Plait, George Hrab, PZ Myers, Jeff Wagg, and many others.

One overlooked area of the JREF website is our YouTube channel. You'll find a link in the menu at the left. Over the past year, we've been adding a lot of content found nowhere else, featuring James Randi doing what he does best. We're up to 182 videos, with more coming all the time. One example is this extended video presentation of Randi speaking at NASA. (You may wish to click on the video for a larger view). Oh, and to give credit where credit is due, you might catch a glimpse of Penn & Teller and the "Amazing" Rudolph in there as well.
