Reader P.T. Quinn in Ann Arbor writes about a currently vapid claim that the existence of UFOs from outer space will now surely be proven: bg.jpg

 Apparently some bookies have stopped taking bets because they think the odds of a UFO making an appearance aren't in their favor:

It is with great regret that we note the passing last Monday – after a long and difficult illness – of geophysicist and prominent member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor Attila Mesko. He was a scholar who received many awards, and will be greatly missed by the scientific community.
