Rosemary Hunter came to the Foundation and had her preliminary test for the Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge. The test was conducted by Jeff Wagg who happens to be the General Manager of the JREF. The test was webcast in full and received a good number of viewers. We also taped the event on a separate camera for archiving puposes.

Prior to the test Rosemary was asked to sign the agreed upon protocol and was given further details on how the test would proceed. After agreement was made the test was underway. Rosemary looked calm and concentrated throughout the test never once opening her eyes the entire 15 minutes.

Callahan A clown named Callahan did some old-fashioned writhing about of the sort that such fakers as Anna Eva Faye and the ancient "mediums" performed to give the impression that they were "in touch" with the dead. This, we were told, would somehow establish whether this dead person was "present" — as if that had anything to do with it. This sensitive "psychic" finally wriggled out a description of a rectangular something of "metal with four wheels" — the 3-letter word "car" would have taken much less sweat from both Mr. Hill and from Callahan — and then Callahan assured us all that he, too, was "a skeptic." Duh.

At youtube.com you’ll see an interesting set of videos dealing with the last Phenomenon episode, the second in the series. Here, all three actors – Geller, Angel, and Callahan – get to expound on what they think took place. Video also here →

First was Geller (misspelled “Gellar” in the heading) who of course declared himself “mind-blown” by the episode, poor chap. He took pains to re-emphasize his contrived acceptance of woo-woo, and generally said nothing that added to the situation. He threw in the popular Relativity rant, dragging in Einstein and demonstrating his profound ignorance of what that man had to say about the real world. But consider: Geller’s in a rather peculiar situation, having now been directly confronted by Angel on this show, and unable to respond…

I’m sure that NBC is also taking pains to see that the Randi element doesn’t get to enter in here, since it might bring a more rational atmosphere to the show, and lose viewers…
